Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to San Pablo Residents Directory. By using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What This Website Is

San Pablo Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning San Pablo, Contra Costa County, and California. It hosts no government records and is not affiliated with San Pablo, the county, a state office, a court, a library, or another custodian. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, governs requests made to public agencies, not the operation of this private reference.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use the service only for lawful, respectful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the material here nor a result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. Do not use either source to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Links to Outside Sites

Government portals and other third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their content, availability, prices, results, or data practices. When a public-record request is directed to an agency, the agency generally makes its initial determination within ten calendar days under California Government Code §7922.535, with the statutory extension rules applying when relevant. California Government Code §7922.570 addresses electronic records and requested formats. Those duties belong to the custodian, not this site.

5. No Warranties

The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We make no promise that the material is accurate, complete, or current, or that an external portal will remain available or produce a correct result.

6. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or an external resource, including a decision made from a record reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that result from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The site's original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links to pages and brief attributed quotations are welcome. Republishing full pages or copying the material systematically is not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

A revised version may be posted here from time to time. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Cutting Off Access

We may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service. We may do so at our discretion and without prior notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, governs public-agency records access, including the determination timing in §7922.535 and electronic-format rule in §7922.570 where applicable; it does not make this private site an agency or custodian. California consumer privacy rules, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., and the DELETE Act, Civil Code §§1798.99.80 et seq., apply when their requirements cover the relevant data practice.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
